Our name, Cualtzin, means "beautiful" or "good" in the Nahuatl language, and that's exactly what we aim to bring to our community through dance.
We're a passionate, community-based group dedicated to sharing the rich and beautiful cultural heritage of Mexico. We believe that everyone deserves access to the arts, so our mission is simple: to offer free, high-quality Ballet Folklórico classes for all ages!

About the Founder, Tanya
Ballet Folklórico Cualtzin was born from the passion and vision of Tanya.
Tanya recognized that the joy and richness of Mexican folk dance needed to be shared, and more importantly, that it should be accessible to everyone. Too often, the cost of quality instruction keeps families from participating in the arts. She decided to change that, grounding the group in the belief that culture and community should never come with a price tag.
By establishing Cualtzin—Tanya created a welcoming space where dancers of all ages could learn, build confidence, and connect with their heritage through free, high-quality classes.
Tanya continues to lead Cualtzin with dedication, inspiring students and the community alike to celebrate tradition, build pride, and experience the transformative power of dance.
